Supporting the ISHRS for the protection of patients.

Stand Proud, Be Loud. Support surgeons – not techs – performing hair restoration surgery.

An increasing number of unlicensed personnel worldwide are performing substantial medical aspects of hair restoration surgery and, in doing so, are putting patients at risk. ISHRS is committed to the highest standards of medical practice, and to educating consumers about this unlawful practice. The ISHRS encourages consumers to follow due diligence when researching a hair restoration surgeon.

ISHRS Position Statement on Qualifications for Scalp Surgery
The position of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery is that any procedure involving a skin incision for the purpose of tissue removal from the scalp or body, or to prepare the scalp or body to receive tissue, (e.g., incising the FUE graft, excising the donor strip, creating recipient sites) by any means, including robotics, is a surgical procedure. Such procedures must be performed by a properly trained and licensed physician (or in countries where it is allowed, a licensed allied health professional practicing within the scope of his or her license).

Dr. Barusco’s Trip to Brazil

After many years Dr. Barusco had an opportunity to visit his hometown of Sao Carlos to spend some quality time with his family and friends from so long ago. He got to enjoy Mom’s cooking (claims he gained a few pounds in the process), reminisced about childhood stories and slept in his old bedroom full of posters from his past!

Dr. Barusco also spoke at The Live Surgery Workshop organized by the ABCRC in Sao Paulo while visiting! He had the honor to moderate and lecture. He was able to catch up with old friends and colleagues.

Dr. Barusco’s lecture and surgery demonstration calendar is always busy, particularly in the second part of the year. Coming up in September, Dr. Barusco is heading to St. Louis University, where he will be teaching at a cadaver workshop devoted specifically to hair transplantation. One of our nurses, Madalene Colón, will also teach other surgical assistants during the workshop. This is a very well attended workshop, bringing doctors and assistants from all over the world.

Then at the end of September Dr. Barusco heads out to Las Vegas for 2 consecutive events: the annual exam of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (Dr. Barusco is the Board’s current Vice-President and an examiner), followed by the Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the largest professional organization in the world devoted to hair restoration. Dr. Barusco will give lectures and coordinate various sessions during the busy meeting, which is attended by several hundred doctors and assistants from all over the globe.

BROW LIFT and FACE LIFT SURGERY & HAIR RESTORATION

It’s becoming more popular for individuals of all ages to opt for brow lift surgeries. Sometimes after the procedure scars are more visible than desired by the patient – that’s where
Tempus Hair Restoration comes in!

ARTISTRY & DETAIL
Not all surgeons have the years of experience to provide delicate hair transplant scar repair.

Dr. Barusco brings artistry and detail that few others offer. It is this subtlety that is needed when you work on disguising a tricky cosmetic procedure like scar concealment. Dr. Barusco is uniquely qualified to treat patients who want to hide brow lift and face lift scarring around their hairline!

SURGEONS REFER TO TEMPUS HAIR RESTORATION FOR COMPLEX CASES
Dr. Barusco has become widely known for his specific techniques and attention to detail. So much so that other surgeons often refer complex cases to Tempus Hair Restoration for transplants that correct scars. For well over a decade, our team has built a reputation for
performing the sophisticated procedures other hair doctors can’t do. This includes correcting botched procedures done by practices that take no pride in their results.

YOU HAVE OPTIONS
You now have many effective options to hide your procedure scars. Let Dr. Barusco help you find the best one for you! We take your needs into account, like few other restoration practices can, by giving you access to a wide array of treatments. We offer both the FUT (traditional “strip” method) of hair transplantation and the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and the No-Shave FUE. We are THE ONLY practice in Central Florida to offer the innovative, No-Shave FUE procedure. In this procedure, you get all the advantages of the FUE method without the need to shave the section of your head for the harvested hairs. This technique offers you the most discreet hair transplant possible because only minor scabbing will be visible.

Facial Hair Transplant Options for Men & Women

Missing Out On “No Shave November”?

Have you always felt left out of “No Shave November” because you weren’t able to grow a full beard? Well, now is the time to consider a facial hair transplant so you can experience what all the hype is about!

At Tempus Hair Restoration, Dr. Marco Barusco is not limited to performing hair transplant procedures just on the scalp. Beard, mustaches and side-burn procedures are becoming very popular for those that want a fuller, more defined look.

Went “Tweezer Happy” Too Many Times?

Sick and tired of penciling in your eyebrows every day? You’re not alone! Many people are choosing to reconstruct their once natural look with a facial hair transplant. In fact, the most common area for hair transplants, other than the scalp, is the eyebrows. Your eyebrows are a very important facial feature and are one of the few ways you visually express emotions.

If you’ve lost yours due to a disease, a scar or a cosmetic choice that you now regret, Dr. Barusco and his team can help give you the look that you desire. We even treat patients with tattooed eyebrows that are now fading and discoloring.

The Tempus Hair Restoration Difference

It is important to know that techniques used in facial hair transplants are different from the ones used for procedures on the scalp. You need a specialist like Dr. Barusco who posses artistic
experience and pays close attention to detail. That includes taking the time to plan the angle and direction of hair for the most natural looking results. Dr. Barusco understands how hairs from different areas of the body behave, and he has the skill and artistry to harvest the hairs that are the best match.

If you would like to fill in gaps or have scars that could be hidden by facial hair, don’t cut corners with a less experienced practice.

Tempus Hair Restoration Celebrates LGBT Pride Month – June 2017

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in June. Tempus Hair Restoration is proud to honor one of our transgender patients this month by sharing her story with others.

Hair loss does not discriminate. It affects men and women, all ages and races. For many, the loss is embarrassing and can create a lack of self-confidence. For some, like Ronie H., not having a full head of hair can even be damaging to one’s identity. Ronie is a transgender woman who wore wigs and hats to cover her hair loss for years. After learning about hair restoration surgery, Ronie wrote an emotional letter to doctors all over the country asking for their help. Dr. Barusco was the only surgeon to respond. Dr. Barusco and the team at Tempus Hair Restoration helped her with her hair issues, which gave Ronie more confidence to continue to advocate for LGBT rights.

Dr. Barusco recently accepted an invitation to prepare and coordinate a workshop on transgender hair restoration during the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery’s annual meeting in Prague happening October 4 – 7, 2017.
