Florida’s Only No-Shave Hair Transplant

Dr. Marco Barusco, Founder and Medical Director of Tempus Hair Restoration, proudly offers patients his advanced No-Shave FUE method of hair transplantation.

Only Tempus Hair Restoration can restore thinning hair and fill in bald spots without as much downtime after the procedure. Normal FUE procedures require you to have your donor hair shaved for the procedure, so everyone knows you had treatment unless you take off an extended period of time to let the shaved patches regrow.

Dr. Barusco developed the innovative and groundbreaking No-Shave FUE procedure to eliminate this problem. It has become so popular that patients fly in from all over the world to take advantage of this innovative procedure.

Benefits of the No-Shave FUE Method:

  • Quicker return to normal activities
  • Completely conceals harvested donor sites immediately
  • Allows women to have the FUE method
  • Ideal for patients with prior strip harvesting scars because linear scars from the previous method will not be visible

The No-Shave method also allows Dr. Barusco to see, in real time, the effect of the harvesting being performed so he can avoid over harvesting in a particular area and creating an uneven, “thinned out” appearance. He can also select the strongest and best hairs to harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions

A traditional FUE hair transplant usually requires trimming the donor area, but a full head shave is not always necessary. During consultation, Dr. Barusco evaluates your hair characteristics and discusses options based on your preferences and restoration goals.

Traditional FUE involves trimming the donor area before harvesting grafts, while no-shave FUE extracts follicles without completely cutting the hair short. Dr. Barusco determines the most suitable approach based on donor hair quality, procedure goals, and patient needs.

FUE hair transplant typically leaves tiny dot-like scars that are usually difficult to notice once healed. Proper graft harvesting by an experienced surgeon helps preserve the donor area and maintain a natural appearance.

Most patients recover from an FUE hair transplant within a few days to weeks. Recovery time depends on the number of grafts, healing response, and following post-procedure instructions provided by your hair restoration team.

During FUE, graft harvesting and recipient site creation require precision and experience. At Tempus Hair Restoration, Dr. Barusco oversees the treatment plan and evaluates hair loss, donor supply, and restoration goals to achieve natural-looking results.

The number of grafts transplanted during FUE depends on hair loss severity, donor hair availability, scalp condition, and desired density. Dr. Barusco carefully evaluates these factors to determine the appropriate Hair Graft number for each patient.

Choosing between FUE and FUT depends on donor hair characteristics, hair loss pattern, lifestyle, and long-term goals. Dr. Barusco reviews your medical history, donor supply, and future hair loss progression before recommending the best technique.

Most patients can safely cut their hair several weeks after an FUE procedure, depending on healing progress. Dr. Barusco provides personalized aftercare instructions based on graft healing and the patient's recovery process.

FUE offers benefits such as minimal scarring, natural-looking results, and faster recovery compared with traditional strip harvesting. Dr. Barusco creates a personalized treatment plan after evaluating donor hair quality, hair loss stage, and long-term restoration goals.

After a year, you can’t tell that this FUE patient had treatment—even with short hair!

Glad that I came here, Dr. Barusco and his staff really took care of me.

Many physicians have recently added FUE to their practices but employ TECHNICIANS, NOT SURGEONS, to perform the hair excision. Dr. Barusco is a leading voice in the fight to stop this practice of employing technicians to harvest donor hairs from patients.

Why Traditional FUE Falls Short of the No-Shave FUE Hair Transplant

Like the No-Shave method, traditional Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) individually extracts follicular units in groupings of one, two or three hairs from the donor’s hair-bearing region using small punches instead of a scalpel blade. Though effective, this procedure requires that your donor area be shaved in order to harvest each individual graft. For many patients, this can be a difficult, embarrassing process because of appearing in public with a half-shaved head. Some patients may even have to take time off in order to allow their hair to grow back in the donor area.

Not Every Practice Can Perform the FUE Hair Transplant

There are many important questions you should ask your potential surgeon during your FUE hair transplant consultation, but there’s one that is most important: Who will harvest the follicular units from my scalp?

Many physicians have recently added FUE to their practices but employ TECHNICIANS, NOT SURGEONS, to perform the hair excision. At Tempus Hair Restoration, we feel that harvesting follicular units is the same as taking hundreds or thousands of skin biopsies, and Dr. Barusco is a leading voice in the fight to stop this practice of employing technicians to harvest donor hairs from patients.

In fact, Dr. Barusco recently proposed important changes to the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery’s (ABRHS) Bylaws that will help protect hair restoration patients:

  • Doctors who use technicians for excisions cannot become a Diplomate of the ABHRS
  • Current Diplomates who use technicians for excisions will be sanctioned by the Board and may have their diploma revoked by the ABHRS

These proposed changes were approved unanimously by the ABHRS Board of Directors. Only licensed professionals should be allowed to perform this procedure. Dr. Barusco is a board certified surgeon and hair transplant specialist, which gives him the extensive medical knowledge and experience to ensure you get safe, reliable treatment that yields the most natural results.
